Looking Up

Garden Plot 105 is looking up!  We've got weed blanket around the boarder this year to keep things easier to maintain, a new trellis for the cucumbers and any squash we want to plant (they grow better UP and with less mold!) and then the boxes for some new soil and hopefully a better yield of peppers and tomatoes.  There will also be cilantro, rosemary, and basil.  There will be lots of fresh salsa and gazpacho..can't wait!!! Special thanks to my sweetie for helping to hammer away at the boxes and trellis.

What we're wondering today is, do we reinforce the boxes before we fill them up?  We think the soil may put extra strain on the boxes and so it’s probably a good idea to get them reinforced before they get planted. The water is flowing and on, and the planting has begun.  So far, we have cucumbers, onions, watermelon, cantaloupe, and peas are already sown.  We will likely get a jump on tomatoes and peppers by planting starters tomorrow.
